Where is your head at?

Often mine has been worrying about how I was being perceived by others or thinking about how some situation in the future is going to unfold.

Fear and worry are natural emotions for humans. Choosing what to fear is the important distinction.

So often, I chose to fear the opinion of men. I made it my god. A merciless god who wants to keep me tucked away as a slave.

Or often I played my cards before they were dealt. Sure of the outcome before life actually played itself out.

God has other plans. Our minds need to be transformed to not fear man of the earth or some yet to happen event, but to fear God of heaven and earth. When we are more concern about how we are perceived by God than man, we can walk in courage as we read, trust, and obey His commands.

Romans 12:1-2 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Mark 4:40 He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”

Galatians 1:10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.

Hebrews 13:6 So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

Joshua 1:7-9 “Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
